The following is an email I received from a pastor in Washington state who holds a PhD from Southwestern. This is representative of a lot of the correspondence I am receiving.
Jonathan,
I'm an SBC pastor in WA. Thank you so much for your courageous statement on the important issue of environmental stewardship. It is absolutely critical that more Southern Baptists do what you are doing. Such statements are setting the stage for constructive dialogue and soul-winning opportunities in my community. (Incidentally, the list of signers looks like a virtual "Who's Who" of Southern Baptist soul winners.)
Please don't be intimidated by those who are downloading their theology from Fox News and not from the Word of God.
This guy--a pastor in a real community ministering in the trenches to real people with real problems--gets it!

Hi Jonathan,
My name is Bob Mendelson. I like what I've read of your views and work. I'd love to discuss possibilities for the holy spirit to work through wise servants who understand stewardship this election year. I've written a book, too, but that's secondary. My e-addy is elijah18901@gmail.com. Hope to hear from you. Thanx. Peace.
I happened to read your article in CS this week and really enjoyed reading your recent blogs. Good to see your passion for the Kingdom of God. Thanks for sharing. Blessings to you.
