Ever since I started teaching, I have become more shocked at the way that young children feel is appropriate to speak to adults. When redirected, instead of a simple, "yes ma'm" or even better saying nothing at all, it often turns into a tirade of yelling and disrespect. No, I don't think this gives us license to be rude or preclude us from apologizing when we misspeak. And, yes, I totally believe this means we should lower our sabers that are used to slash good brothers and sisters who partner with others with whom we might disagree on some things.

Jonathan Merritthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18317633914257498372noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6152414280236923890.post-66158422521678082542009-07-30T09:49:59.154-04:002009-07-30T09:49:59.154-04:00Hi JM,

It'll be no surprise to you that I think one aspect, or perhaps offshoot, of this quest for civility should be grace in lieu of guilt by association -- which is a favored tactic of the uncivil hoards. :)
--TWSTyler Wigg-Stevensonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12950950472893026151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6152414280236923890.post-88586588020551216032009-07-29T21:49:35.611-04:002009-07-29T21:49:35.611-04:00right Tmamone - that's the way it should be - ...right Tmamone - that's the way it should be - apologizing when we mess up.

But, we don't need (and should not) apologize when our the message of the Gospel of the Kingdom speaks truth that reveals wrong...

(of which I didn't suggest that you did)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6152414280236923890.post-16137062578393735162009-07-29T18:39:09.651-04:002009-07-29T18:39:09.651-04:00Iam4Jesus--I make no apologizes for being a Christ...Iam4Jesus--I make no apologizes for being a Christian.
